| Had a pretty awesome birthday! I guess I'll let the pictures do most of the speaking... my xanga HAS become a photoblog as my friend noted. oh well, pictures are more interesting any way.
So it started out with a some classy red wine with Briana (roommate) at 12am, which was soon interrupted by people in my fellowship: Alex, Jeftom, Justin, Jason, Matt, Jenna, Leslie, Daniel, Steph, Briana, Alyssa, Jenn, Greg, and Joanna. - The junior class took took a shot of Malibu - Jenn made some margaritas =) - We played Mario Kart... - And apparently, I have asian glow... wasn't drunk, just really red, haha

Then, the "next day" ... Gary came over and made me some sirloin with Cabernet

yay for ghetto background with all our junk... at least we have a picture of the cable car. sorry, i was too lazy to lighten this picture...
Then another surprise at the Korean place in Ranch 99.
Joanne was there! ... eating at another resturant with her family, but she dropped by to say hi =)
Yay for Briana + Gary for planning everything... I must say I didn't even notice that big box coming into the resturant.
oooohhh.. a camera bag!
And Melody got me a tie-dye shirt... wow..
Yay for everyone that came!
Then, my sister and brother made filet mignon for me... it was so yummy... no pics of it, we devoured it
Thanks ALL for making my 21st so wonderful --- from phone calls to gifts to food to drinks to just good old time spent together.

| This break went by pretty quickly... maybe cause I was having fun. =) I probably should be packing... but I rather take a moment to remember what I did this break here are some highlights.
1. Eating shabu shabu... I ate it about 3 times this break.... so yummy (this is at Jess' work, Shabu House, totally recommend!)
2. Hanging out with Jinelle... I took plenty of ugly pics of her, but I better not embarass her with them :P
3. Random dessert hangouts with ben, gary, and gary. i think we finally found our favorite chinese dessert place at My Favorite Cafe on Clement.
4. Getting a nikon d80... as it is teaching me patience, humility, and seeing the true enjoyment of photography (I'm still chewing on this one)
5. Gary preparing a picnic for us at Pebble Beach.
7. Playing taboo on new years eve and missing the countdown cause I refused to stop playing :P i love barbie and ben's expression, i bet she got a hard word.

8. Having a restful core retreat... playing computer games, puzzles, and clue! think i really enjoyed spending time together. =) here are my partners in crime - Jason and Alyssa
9. randomly going over to barbie's house in my pjs...as we chatted till 5am about life. no picture of this, i don't think a camera can capture the beauty of it anyway. =)
10. After spending time with friends in high school and friends in college... I've gotten a better glimpse of what community is. i don't think i can ever have the idea of community - at least the ideal one in my head. but i think this break, God has definitely shown me the kind of community he has given me. here's some examples =) praise god

11. Seeing the beautiful, blue lake tahoe
12. Learning how to carve! =)
13. thanks to my fantastic teacher that taught me with lots of patience.
14. Being able to be still and mediate on God the other day as I read the psalsms: Your lovingkindness, O LORD, extends to the heavens, Your faithfulness reaches to the skies. Your righteousness is like the mountains of God; Your judgments are like a great deep

| I never understood how some people can have so compassion for others. To hear a few individuals in my life tell me of their compassion in the homeless... in the lost, it's pretty amazing. And I know it's not just talk, because I can see it in their eyes when they speak of it... and in their hearts through their actions. If you were to ask me what I'm really compassion about.... I honestly don't think I can give you a genuine God answer. I don't think I honestly care enough for it to be considered true compassion... a compassion where I will weep for them, where my heart feels broken for them.
Something about last night. My heart broke for my friend... never have I felt my heart so heavy and sad for an acquaintance that I honestly never talk to. But God told me to talk to him last night.... and God showed me how He wanted to be a part of His life so much. It broke me. There are lots of people that need Jesus.... but God revealed to me specifically how my friend's life can really change if He was part of it. God will give him purpose and God will lift his head up.
We are always sick... even the Christians that go to church, even the ones that serve, even myself. I need to stop thinking that everyone is healthy just because they're Christian...
Take my expectations of who I think man should be... what Christian should be, and fill my heart with eyes to see the sick and broken so You can fill their wounds with Your healing. but I thank You for breaking us... how else would we know how much we need You. thank You for the Cross.
